Vortex is a unique professional development opportunity for emerging entrepreneurs in the videogame industry. Come and meet North America’s industry leaders, decision makers, financial advisers and the mentors you need to succeed.
Enter with your submission for a game concept or prototype. It will be reviewed by the stellar industry panel from whom you’ll receive feedback. Some of you will then get the opportunity to actually pitch your concept or prototype at the Vortex competition.
Vortex is entering its sixth year and was created as a response to the huge interest around, and growth of, the videogame industry in Canada. It is a great opportunity open to emerging videogame developers to hone their craft and further their business. The Vortex Conference and Competition is the only place in Canada where emerging game designers and developers can present their concepts to an outstanding line up of international industry honchos, financiers and venture capitalists in the hope of winning the competition and along the way getting their creation to market. Think a kinder, gentler “Dragon’s Den” with massive networking opportunities and prizes, coupled with industry sessions and coaching from the most successful entrepreneurs in Canada.
The Vortex coaches, mentors, jury and networking opportunities alone are worth the effort. Previous jury panelists have included experts from Bell, CHUM, Telus, Yahoo, and top local game developers and publishers, plus Covington Capital, Courage Capital, RBC Capital Markets and Ventures West. This year’s edition is equally exciting and promises to bring you the best in the business from around the world.
